Kenya Power run a Sh13 billion underground power network project to improve the quality of electricity supply in Nairobi.

This project included installation of underground cables around the city and overhead cables. The underground cabling project was implemented in partnership with CPP, China Petroleum Pipeline. A total of 30.71 kilometres of transmission lines in underground cables were to be installed around the city. CPP contracted Minex Micro Tunneling to offer tunneling services.
